Standards

Standards We Use

Strong systems need a common language. We rely on open, nationally recognized standards to make education data easier to share, trust, and use across Michigan.

Why They Matter

Shared standards mean cleaner data, fewer custom integrations, and systems that scale. Less burden for districts. More clarity for partners. Better outcomes statewide.

A common structure for sharing K-12 data across systems. Ed‑Fi enables secure, consistent movement of student, staff, and program data and aligns to Common Education Data Standards.
Standards like OneRoster help instructional systems work together by streamlining the rostering process.. They reduce complexity for districts and provide seamless, secure access to digital learning tools.
CEDS provides shared definitions and vocabulary across early learning, K–12, post-secondary, and workforce systems. It supports consistent reporting and alignment statewide.
