API Connection Setup
- Log in to the Michigan DataHub Production Cockpit.
- Navigate to the API Integrations section.
- Click “Add Integration.”
Complete the following selections:
- System Type: Integration Vendors
- Vendor: Microsoft
- System: School Data Sync (SDS) – v1
- Profile Type: Rostering
Check the box for “Permit Access to OneRoster API.”
Once selected, additional OneRoster fields will appear.
Under Select Available Scopes, choose all available scope options:
- RosterCore_ReadOnly
- Roster_ReadOnly
- RosterDemographics_ReadOnly
- Resource_ReadOnly
- Gradebook_ReadOnly
- Gradebook_CreatePut
- Gradebook_Delete
- Select the appropriate School Year.
- Check the box for “View Credentials in Management Portal.”
- This allows credentials to be securely accessed by the vendor without sharing via email.
- Click Submit to create the integration.
After Submission
The system will automatically generate the required connection details, including:
- OneRoster Authorization URL
- OneRoster API Endpoint URL
- Key and Secret
These credentials are used by Microsoft SDS to establish the connection.
Important Notes
Districts must update the School Year selection annually within the API integration to ensure SDS continues to receive current data. Failure to update the year may result in missing or outdated roster data in SDS.
