The Direct Certification service was developed in collaboration with CEPI to provide end users a lookup process in the Student Information System that allows an authorized Food Service System district user to search CEPI’s direct certification data to determine whether a child is eligible for free/reduced meals via direct certification. This lookup will also allow authorized FSS district users the ability to request data from the most recent Direct Certification refresh for their district. The benefit of this service is to provide a student's eligibility upon enrollment so the data can be consumed by the SIS, compatible food service systems, and any additional application downstream that is able to consume the data for reporting, or other services.
Additional benefits of this service include:
Eliminating the need for users to login to a state system, download the data, and import back into your system. Minimizes files with sensitive data on users local computer/networks Allows districts to determine eligibility as soon as a new student is enrolled
Currently, the service is available for any Student Information System (SIS) and food service provider to integrate. The list of compatible Student Information systems are below. As more food service providers integrate we will provide a compatibility chart for them as well.

Integration Steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the Data Hub Cockpit
Step 2: In the API Integration section, select the Student Information System integration created for your districts integration (MISTAR-Q, PowerSchool, Skyward, Infinite Campus, Synergy)

Step 3: Select the ALLOW DIRECT CERT option. Ensure the option has a checkbox.
Step 4: Click the submit button and follow the instructions, provided by your SIS vendor for any required configuration in the SIS tool.
